I don't think the problem is finding skype but actually get it stable and working.
For some strange reason if you visit the skype mobile site it would say my handset (N
isn't compatible, yet they advertise skype on n8 in the photo. The ovistore version can install but every now & again it breaks & stops working.
I've used both fring & skype, when they play up & stop working they both crash & restart. Nokia has obviously done something very wrong with belle particularly with voip. After many months, neither skype, fring nor nokia has cared to address the issues with belle.
Users have found work arounds, such as making specific system files read only (hacked phones) to get fring working. Skype appears to need a particular theme set otherwise it crashes. I have 2 themes installed, always default, skype started crashing a few days ago, removed ms office mobile & all the apps I installed in the past month. Still no luck.
My backup is using skype from 3 which doesn't use the phones voip functions & android/ios versions of fring. I find myself asking how much longer can nokia remain with it, windows phones can't compre. Nice cameras Nokia but that alone can't win the game.
