Problem signing in on Nokia N8

I'm using Symbian Belle on my Nokia N8 and every time I try to sign into Skype the app crashes, any suggestions?

Same problem on C7. Skype v2.1.0.23. And it leaves the 'skyhost' process running that holds the inetrnet connection.

Ok, I've solved the problem. Skype doesn't work with some non-standard themes. Set the theme to 'Nokia Evolve' to use Skype... An ugly solution

Or maybe reinstalling the theme to drive c: will also help

It's a shame that this is not listed in the new Skype's known issues.

Thanks for the pointer on this one - after much faffing about with this app I tried your suggestion which worked great.  I wouldn't say it's an ugly solution as it works and I'd much rather have Skype working on my device over a flashy non-standard theme and no Skype.  Hopefully the guys and gals in the labs (Nokia and/or Skype) will get this addressed soon.

I was try differnt versions of skype. From Ovi store also... Not working!!!!!!!!

I'm new to this and already feel really stupid. Just bought 12 months of unlimited talk to a specific country and only afterwards discovered that maybe it won't work from my Nokia N8 to a phone in the other country as I will need to download an app and reading here in this forum makes me worried that I bought something I can't use. I had got the impression that I would get a specific number for the persons I wanted to call by by cell phone and then be able to call them. No apps. Was that totally wrong?

Is there no customer support anywhere in the Skype universe???? I really hope someone out there can shed a little light on this for me.
