Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

@DHKaplan

Well Looks like I am back to a no go again just like your results.  I was able to stay sighed in a while but as soon as I took a landline call on my phone and hung up I was then signed out again and can not get back in.

Maybe I will wait a few more days and see if this will get resolved on its own.
Skype Chat Support guy who said the problems weren't Skype's fault.
What a bad joke. Just by looking at this very forum one can clearly see that at the same time the same problem suddenly affected ALL Skype CERTIFIED phones from a dozen of vendors: RTX (DualPhone), Philips, Netgear, Asus, etc.

So whose fault it is if not Skype's?  It is OBVIOUSLY a change done by Skype that made ALL Skype phones to sign out and not able to sign in.

So those p***ks better do something about it NOW instead of telling people that it isn't their fault!

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

Ive been thru this last year and can tell you what Skype will say,  Its up to the manufacturer of your phone to update the firmware.  LOL no joke.   However with Philips they no longer make the phone and no longer support it either.....SO......We can only hope Skype remidies this situation.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

See told you... look way back into these threads. I still urge you to call Philips the number I posted in on page 16.  They will tell you to uninstall Skype from your puter and reinstall it with an older version and will give you the URL to download the older Skype version.  I myself will wait this one out a bit and keep calling them complaining.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

So happy to have found this message thead.   I've been driven a bit crazy about this issue.  For me it just started yesterday.   I even circumvented my router and connected directly into the modem and changed the protocol to pppoe ... no luck,  same problem ...  can't log in...  although over the last day I've connected twice only to have the same problem appear --  I was considering practicing voodoo until I found this thread ...  Philips was of no help and I asked to have the issue escalated to the next tier (I don't expect to hear back) and I wrote an email to Skype (also not expecting a reply)...  I welcome any suggestions ...

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

Actually, things are looking better if all, or at least a large number, of the Skype phone manufacturors are having the same login issue. The answer is to start bombarding Skype with complaintys. They broke it, they need to fix it. These are NOT computers, they are phones. You expect to buy them and use them. Period. They will start getting hate mail and set up of a "Skype Sux" tyoe website probably by the end of the week. I wouldn't put it past someone to start a DOS attack on their system. They will have to get off their butts and fix it. And NEVER allow it to happen again. It is called testing an update prior to release. If it does escalate and make it to the news, their new handlers (Microsoft) will spank them good.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

After two days without being able to sign in on my VOIP841, I'm now back on the system - seems Skype did something to fix the problem at their end - hope the problem is solved for good.....
