Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

Last time this happened in August the work around was calling Philips and hammering on them asking for answers.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

Well, with regards to my Linksys CIT400 VOIP phone, I also just spent 47 minutes on hold with Linksys "Support", but never had anyone come on the line.  That was after spending two hours with a Skype Chat Support guy who said the problems weren't Skype's fault.  It's hard to imagine why Skype would do not want their customers to be able to connect to their accounts on the phones that Skype licensed and installed their software on.  Here's hoping resolution soon comes...

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

I have a question for all of you with Skype Philips phones VOIP 841 preferably...Have any of you updated your Skype on a computer?????????????

Please let me know as I just talked to Philips and he said last time this happened he had everyone Uninstall Skype on a computer and then load an older version of Skype after doing that your phone will work again.  I know that sounds crazy.  I never did that last year when this happened.  So I am wondering if any of you updated your skype on a laptop or desktop computer????????????????   I did last week but I didn't notice at the time if my skype phone quit working....The way I found out was an email from this thread that I posted on last year.

Please let me know!!!

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

If your question is aimed at me about my Linksys CIT400, I can see all the normal options under Menu>Settings.  And I can see the IP address that I'm connected to the CIT400 modem with.  The problem is not the phone or the software on the phone.  The problem is that the modem won't connect to Skype.  When I log into the CIT400's configuration panel (by typing the IP address into my browser), everything shows up as if it's working...except under the "SKYPE" tab.  In there, it shows that it's continually trying to connect to Skype.  I've tried resetting all the network settings on the modem and on the phone, and rebooting everything, but, since this morning, it's always the same result: the Linksys CIT400's modem won't connect to Skype.  If you or anyone has any ideas on how to get it to work, I'd be most grateful.  Yet, my guess is that the fix needs to come from Skype.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

I have a Philips VOIP 841... and yes I did update skype on a desktop Mac last week, but that is ridiculous that it could affect the phone...

My phone is now working again for some strange reason...! This morning it was active when I took a look at it! Had been dead yesterday.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

@DHK   I agree  it sounds crazy....But that is what the Philips tech person said was the issue last year however I never uninstalled my skype program on my PC last year and it just started working again.    However I did update my Skype on my desktop last week....I know I know seems stupid to me also...but thats why I am asking everyone if they did a Skype update on a pc or laptop before their Skype phone stopped working.

Here is the Philips number if anyone wants to call them.

1-888-744-5477

But please post here if you did a Skype program update lately and then your phone would not sign in after.

Does anyone know if the same scenario/fix would apply for a Linksys CIT400 Skype phone?

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

It should yes.   I just got mine to work...However I did not uninstal Skype on my PC.

I Signed out of my phone, left it off for 30 minutes and then signed back in reentering my password and it now works!   Give that a try first...You may have luck.
