Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

ok, the replies keep making me feel disheartened, but that's the way it goes with letterwriting. we're just going to have to send mayn emails to see if it gets through their thick skulls.

I'm planning on sending my letter again fro a different email address. when you use their form for email, it forces you to sign in, so it wouldnt make sense to send many emails from the same username. but I think I'm just going to email them directly at contactus@skype.net

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

I wonder if this is a sign of things to come with the new owners of Skype (Microsoft)?

Re: Phillips VOIP 841 - Will not sign in

After an hour and a half with online support, still not answer. They escalated it to Tier 2 support although at this point I am pessimistic about finding a solution to this. I will of course post anything I find out. In the mean time, everyone should send emails and messages to both companies so this can be well documented and hopefully resolved by one of the two.

Re: Netgear sph200d

I have the netgear SPH200D phone and mine stopped working as well.  It has been working with "no problems" for years and all of a sudden it will not log me in.  Come on techs from skype!  get you heads out of your asses because people are pissed off.  I too have called netgear to only speak with someone that barely talks english and they informed me that they could not do anything for me.  I knew that.  I then email good old people at skype and they told me that they did not support third party hardware, so then why do you tell people that it supports skype and then nothing.  People are tired of the run around and don't have money to run out just to buy a new phone when nothing is wrong with their own.  Get your acts together.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841

"ghale" if you have any sense you would understand that people with philips and netgear and other lynksys are all having the same problem.  It is people like you that cannot understand what is going on.  Dude, no one all of a sudden can log in with their VOIP phone no matter what firmware you have.  Do you get it now and by the way if Sype would look at this and answer people then we wouldn't even have this conversation.  Do yo get it now.

Re: Phillips VOIP 841

Well,

I've a problem with my Phillips VOIP 841, after 4 years of good work.

I really hope that Skype or Philips fix the issue, because my phone is in a good state and I can't use it.

I've simply written to create another thread for other devices, to avoid creating a mix in this thread.

NETGEAR SPH200D

Both of my SPH200D Netgear device (which have the exact identicle internal hardware as the phillips device) have both stopped working since skype have done this update.  Im going to contact netgear and ask for a refund as this is taking the mick.

SKYPE knew this was going to happen when they did the update, they've just done it anyway without any concerns for their customer as they can easily palm the responsibility off on to the manufactures of the device; which is exactly what they're doing if you look at all their responses.

Skype, heres a question for you, how about you work with the manufacturese of your certified devices prior to deploying and rolling out your new updates and effecting and causing issues for you existing customers.... ???
