Is there a plan to introduce skype for blackberry handsets?

I am in India with the Vodafone network and i have a Blackberry 9300. As per my knowledge skype is provied a couple of network providers only in the US.

Do any of you guys have an idea on whether Skype is planning to launch a software for Blackberry devices all over the world?

Only Skype know the answer to that one but Skype are too ignorant and spineless to issue any kind of official statement on the issue. You can write to them but they will only reply with a copy and paste answer sent from their tax avoiding haven in Luxembourg. Mainly it boils down to a deal they signed with Verizon in 2009. You will find other theories and info on this forum and beyond but don't expect anything from Skype except for ignorance and silence.

Re: Is there a plan to introduce skype for blackberry handsets?

Has anyone tried the IM+ Talk App for Skype on Blackberry?

IM+ is the skype chat version only and then you get the IM+ Talk which enables skype voice calls over blackberry devices. This does have a trial period and then you have to pay a couple of bucks to get the full app subscription. It's on the Blackberry App World...

Maybe give it a download and see if the trial version works for you... I tried it on my Curve 8520 which only supports EDGE network, but I could hear the other person talking even though I was in the car... I'm sure 3G an faster will possibly work. Let me know...
