GE 31591 Skype Cordless Telephone

I can not make calls out to any phone numbers all of a sudden. I bought it yesterday. It says I have no skype out credit yet yesterday it worked fine. I can still make calls out via my pc signed in, and I can receive calls to the phone, however I can not call out. PLEASE HELP!!!

Due to your inept customer service crew and complete lack of response, i finally figured out what was wrong. So for those of you having similar problems, if you push the green talk button, the phone assumes you are attempting to call out using a landline. I do not have one of those. You must instead click the skype logo button and choose skype out in order to call. Ingenius really considering the instructions said no such thing. Thank you skype and thanks GE. ASmazing customer service here. should of gotten a **bleep**ing magic jack.

Hi, you can change the "Preferred line" to SkypeOut Call so that you don't have to always hit the Skype button first (default is Regular Call). Settings > Phone > Preferred Line

Thank you for the posting. I had the same problem. Microsoft better fix/replace Skype customer service.

I recently commented that I 'was having problems'. I managed to reset the phone with my account number/UN and thought it's all OK! I have a Skype landline number etc, I can now receive calls but a) I cannot make out going calls and yes I checked the preferred out going line and b) I cannot see any contacts on the phone. When I got the phone it worked 'out of the box' but not now. I cannot find to reset the factory settings, which should/might fix it! Anyone out got any suggestions and I’ve been with Skype since Beta days?

If you enter the menu and go to Settings -> Advanced, you should see a "Reset settings" entry. I've not tried it, so I can't vouch for just what it does. Presumably it's not like the cartoon I once saw where a guy with a laptop is surrounded by a primeval setting with rocks and dinosaurs, the caption reading, "Jack immediately regrets clicking on 'Delete History'."

Thanks for that, mate. I think I've 'been here before' as after I'd completed reset, completed my account details then I went to contacts and just my Mom there! I have 70 plus contacts which don't see and I've just tried calling my landline after 45 secs nothing, so no change e.g. I can receive calls but not make them, so frustrating! So back to the drawing board! If you have any thoughts as we say in Blighty ‘I’m all ears’! Cheers Ben
