Dualphone 3088 connection problems

I've just downloaded and installed on my PC a version of Skype that's 4 years old or so (3.something) and it has absolutely no problems with signing in. So it's definitely NOT that there is a problem with old software.

It looks that it's ONLY the standalone Skype phones that can't sign it.  Coincidence? Or some new dirty game of Micro$$$oft?

I encountered this problem yesterday evening (am based on Austria) and finally managed to log in with the 3088 after 4 hours of trying.  No chance this evening - have spent another 2 hours and have been through the advanced help section of dualphones website in some detail.  The last firmware release (http://dualphone.net/Files/GetFiles/Release_notes_for_DUALphone_3088_firmware_v250.pdf)was in 2009 (V250 released on 14th Sept 2009), therefore I concur with the analysis of our fellow 3088 community that the root cause lay at the hands of skype.

The Skype version I've just installed on my PC for test (3. was from April 2008, yet it signs in to Skype just fine. So I don't think that DualPhone firmware from 2009 is the problem.

I also have the same problem with my two RTX Dual Phone 3088.

Both died at the same time, sometime during the weekend and has since not been able to connect to the skype network...

same problem here in germany, since yesterday I get the same problem but sometimes shows connecting and it work.....

hope Skype find a solution soon....

I too reported the problem to Skype using their Live chat. The guy said he will escalate it to higher technical department. I told him to let the technical department know about all the people's posts on this forum, proving that it's not an individual isolated issue but a general problem with their servers.

Let's see if they do anything about it....

BTW. I've just noticed that Skype client on my Nokia N900 (Linux / Maemo) smartphone cannot sign in, too.    It still works OK on the newer Nokia N9, though...

EVERYONE, PLEASE USE THE LIVE CHAT TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM TO SKYPE!!!  They will do something about it ONLY IF THEY GET ENOUGH COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE, otherwise they will just keep ignoring it!

It's 2 days now .... either you guys are incompetent or just hard headed. You (no one else) have caused this ..... it's time to backout or fix it.

Yes I know it's really frustrating, but take heart(beat) - Check it now if you like but here's the latest from Skype.

Good evening.
Yesterday I contacted you telling my Dual Phone could not sign in to skype all of a sudden.
I was told to contact the manufacturer as a third party.

PLEASE read the postings on

8 pages of postings of people all over the world having the same problems!!!!!!!!!

So, do not push the problem aside to a third party and do something about it in your own software or servers.

I hope I can have confidence that skype recognizes the problem as THEIR responsability and will act accordingly!!!

You're a lot more diplomatic than me Villadique but as you can see Justfreedo has passed on the official Skype response. They have acknowleged the problem.
