I too have received a reply from the manufacturer RTX (almost 6 hours ago) stating that Skype was checking their servers - and yet Skype have admitted no such problem!

The Heartbeat page:

http://heartbeat.skype.com/

has for the duration of this problem, stated:

Sign in and registration. All working normally.

Well, same here ! Have been busy whole day trying to fix, but reading all the posts it is clear it isnt me or my phone :happy: Now 16:50 in Holland and no solution yet !

Same in U.S. since yesterday. I've contacted both Skype and Dualphone and gotten "answers" that suggest they just need more info about my specific phone to diagnose the problem. How can that be when so many are having the same problem? Obviously it is something on Skype or Dualphone's end.

I thought mine was working too, but it was only able to place calls, not receive them. Also, it isn't updating the time for daylight savings and is obviously not working fully. Now we're back to signing in status, so whatever was "fixed" was apparently temporary.

Hi,

I've had peerless service from my 3088 since 2004. But today it is failing to connect. I have the same problem occurring on my SMC, which has provided faultless service since 2000. The problem is NOT with the equipment, but with Skype! I have reproduced the same failure on a wireless connected PC when I install Skype 4.2.

Please check it out Skype, you have done something recently that inhibits early versions connecting correctly.

Your comments and action would be greatly appreciated.

I have been a loyal Skype user for longer than I care to mention, I rely on the system, I have a Europe-wide subscription and I would like to continue to be able to use all my Skype enabled products without these problems.

it's been now nearly TWO DAYS since the **bleep** thing stopped working. And nothing has been done to fix it!

 

They took money for a Skype CERTIFIED product, they take my monthly subscription fee for unlimited calls to landlines (which I am now UNABLE to make), and they do NOTHING.

 

If it is a Skype Certified phone then it means that Skype gets money for the certification, i.e. some licence fee for every unit sold!

 

Skype, I *DEMAND* that you make my phone work again NOW!

It is a Skype problem - Any Skype installation earlier than 5.0 will display this error - Dualphone SMC and I guess Phillips VOIP have early versions loaded.
