Finally got the support chat working. The I let the Skype rep know that it seems every user in the world with a 3088 is having this problem. She said they would look into it and it would be forwarded to the correct department.. but she also told me to "contact the manufacturer". She also told me that they "are not responsible for 3rd party devices". I reminded her that this is a Skype certified device (I believe they even sold in their online store). Hopefully they'll get this sorted out before I have to go buy a celphone (ugghh).

I completely agree with your theory for the malfunction. If they don't get this sorted out by close of business tomorrow, all paying users with access to chat support with a 3088 should contact them to let them know again. If a device is sold that's "Skype certified" that they even sell in their store, they should at very least take the responsibility to ensure they are doing everything possible on their end to make it work for their paying customers. Hopefully their IT guys figure it out quickly.

I've emailed RTX and explained the problem. I also sent them a link to this thread that way they can see that it's not isolated to one user. It appears worldwide and it started a day or 2 ago. Hopefully together with Skype they'll be able to get it resolved ASAP.

Reading this makes me happy for I'm not the only one. It's not me! It makes me angry because I've been trying to solve this problem for hours yesterday. What a waste of time. Let's see if Skype will solve the problem or if updated firmware becomes available asap...

Same problem here. Have installed 245, reinstalled 250, dualphone still is unable to sign in. I need to be able to make calls! Hope a solution is forthcoming.

Just received an email back from RTX ....
" .....Please be informed that Skype users in certain regions may have sign-in problem using Dualphone 3088. Skype is currently checking their servers. And we are waiting for their further update."
Looks like the Skype boys are working on it. Must be the Microsoft syndrome !!!!

Hi All,
Same problem here, in Brussels (Europe), since yesterday. I tried also a downgrade of the firmware without success. Skype is still working fine on my PC.
I am glad to read that Skype support is now investigating the problem.
I am expecting a beliveable explanation for this mess because either this is a poorly managed "upgrade" or "maintenance" on their side or, worse, this could be some ongoing hacker attacks and I want to know if my wallet is in danger!

My 3088 Dualphone is able to sign in now. Looks like they fixed the issue (perhaps just in the US so far).
