change area code of online number to a new area code

Say I have an online number whose area code is 208 and I move to a new state with an area code of 503...

If I have an online Number subscription, can I change the area code that subscription uses or am I forced to buy a NEW online number with the new area code that I desire, effectively giving me two online numbers and having to pay for both?

Currently, you would need to purchase a new number, and simply not renew the old number when that old number expires.
