Skype 4.1 for iPhone and iPad

We are very proud today to release the newest update 4.1 to Skype for iPhone and Skype for iPad. Read on in our community topic for a download link and an explanation of the improvements changes.

We would also like to thank you for your Bluetooth feedback here on the community. Thanks to that we were able to identify and address the most pressing issues you had with Bluetooth audio devices and Skype before. Please share any remaining issue you are still having on the Bluetooth feedback topic so we can look into those as well.

Not impressed with this update. Cant login to Skype anymore, without being forced to accept all my contacts are being stored on the Skype network. Bad move.

I agree on that comment.

I won't use skype again on my ipad, or upgrade the version on my iphone. 

The contact management was ok on last version. Connecting from any device I would find my contacts again. 

The new pop-up gives no choice when connecting. Bad feeling..

Well, I upgraded and now the IM don't go if there are more than 14p or they go and take hours ... what was a very cost effective way of keeping touch with family and freinds abroad is now ridiculous.

This happened on a previous update, then was corrected.. it seems the old bug has come back

Please correct... I didn't realise the extent of the problems before my iPhone synced with ITunes so I don't have a previousl version to reinstall

just updated to 4.1 on my mobile now i can type an IM to one contact but certain contacts i cannot get the IM keyboard up to type an IM. This can only be rectified when i reboot the iphone completely then i can type to the contact i want but then i cannot to others.

THIS DID NOT HAPPEN BEFORE THE UPDATE SO NO ITS NOT MY IPHONE ITS YOUR UPDATE.

do this update resolve the green and pink color problem on the camera?

This is becoming a huge irritation!  I send an SMS on my iPhone 4s and it's held in "Pending" status until who knows when.  Has anyone been able to overcome this issue?

I am in the States right now.  Friday, I leave for Hong Kong.  Can I buy Skype credit to call landlines and cell phones from here so that I will be able to make calls right away when I get to Hong Kong?  Is the rate the same regardless of whether I call from the States or Hong Kong?  Thank you!

I called up a friend in china using my nokia and it works. When I dialled the same number on skype using iphone4 with a +, it said invalid number. what am i missing?

Hey Claudius,

Ive looked through the comments and topics that were related to the bluetooth connectivity problem, and looking at this fix for vers 4.1; what about the latest release of skype vers 4.6.306??

I bought skype credit so i could call numbers on the go and use my bluetooth headset but after accidentally updating my skype on my iphone 4 to this vers 4.6.306; Ive basically stopped using skype because there is NO WAY to change the audio device even to loudspeaker which is ridiculous.

Please help as I believe others should be experiencing this problem as well. Other than this problem, Im very happy with skype's services and would be happy to purchase more call credit.
