Unmerge Skype and Microsoft Account

When I installed Skype on my Windows 8 computer (the Metro App), I mistakenly clicked "I do not have a Skype account", and it has now created a NEW Skype account for me, whereas I DID want to merge my accounts. It seems like I can't delete my current Skype one or the Microsoft-Skype one (and incidentally, I can't sign into my Microsoft SKype account on my Android device).

What should I do?

Re: Unmerge Skype and Microsoft Account

I chose to merge my accounts but would rather be running them seperately. I would also like to know how to un-merge these accounts.

Re: Unmerge Skype and Microsoft Account

Please Contact customer service and ask them to unlink your account.

include the below information.

Skype version and platform you are using

What is the exact version number of Skype and what platform you are using (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, etc.)?

Which option you choose to log in to Skype, if you combine your account:

• Skype
• Microsoft account
• Facebook

Skype-account you used in the process of merging?

Indicate that combined.

What happens when I merge my Skype and Microsoft accounts?

How can I contact Skype Customer Service?

What is live chat support?

Re: Unmerge Skype and Microsoft Account

Is true that the email support option seems to be unavailable, but you can use Live Chat Support to address your questions. I tried a few seconds ago for other question and they answer me.

Re: Unmerge Skype and Microsoft Account

How about an easier way? Here's one:

  1. Go to Skype in your desktop
  2. In the Skype menu, click on Account
  3. At the bottom, click on Email Settings which directs you to your profile in your browser
  4. Next to Microsoft account, click on Unlink
  5. Then you can merge your account in the metro app

Simple!
