Conference calls with windows 8 and windows 7

My Dad has group calling with his windows 7 and I have skype for windows 8. We are not able to do a group call. I can do one on one with him but when we try a group chat it doesn't work. Are windows 7 skype and windows 8 skype not compatible for group calls?

Which version of Skype do you use?
Run Skype >> WinKey + C >> Settings >> About.

Please update to Version

Run Skype and select one contact first.

Then Select the + icon

and add participants.

You can add up to 24 contacts.

Please note that, group video calling is not supported yet.
