security question

I just downloaded and joined Skype on my iMac. My Norton firewall is informing that other computers from all over tjhe world is trying to access Skype on my computer, about one every 20-30 seconds. Should I be blocking these? What/who are these intrusions?

Re: security question

Skype is a peer-to-peer programme, and relies on users' computers to relay calls. This is what you're seeing. It's normal operation for Skype, and not something to be overly concerned about (in my personal view, that is).

Re: security question

is this normal? This is just some of the IP's and ports - I'm denying them until I'm sure it's ok but my firewall has been going crazy lately on my Mac making all these connections - I never noticed it before seems recent.
