camera not showing me on Skype using latest version of iMac os x and Skype

my friend can hear me but not see me, i can see and hear them. i check my web cam and it works on facetime and iphoto ok but not on skype? i also checked the preferences in skype and video is set to facetime hd camera ok?

I'm having exactly the same problem and have done what you've done! My camera is working fine on all applications and when i check it in Skype but I can't get it to work when calling people. Would appreciate any help.....

This is also happening to me but not with all of my contacts.  I am wondering if the video now works both ways if both parties have the new version of Skype?  Help!

Using Mac X 10.6. Webcam Logi C910 (present from Father Christmas) using Logi Mac drivers.

Opened webcam and Skype apps from the dock. Same problem, other party can only hear me, I can see and hear them. Ran test in Skype (Help>Welcome tour>Setup). Audio in and out ok, camera not recognised.

Quit both apps. Opened only Skype app. Ran test again. Camera now recognised.

Haven't contacted anyone yet, as it's Sunday they're probably all still in bed. At least camera recognised. Will get back if problem solved.

When I am connected to my friend 's computer through Skype, He can see and hear me. I can hear him but not seing him, My computer IMac 0s x latest an skype's latest version 5.3. Please help. By the way, his skype works with others.

This happened a week ago when I updated Skype. It seems like there are many users with the same problem but no one with a solution. I get a black rectangle on the video call with my caller's video behind on the screen and no sign of my video. Also the control are missing from the screen.
