Dear Skype team,
first off, I'd like to say thank you for finally giving us mac users the possibility of only showing online contacts, that is awesome and extremely helpful.
However, when I "upgraded" to the beta, I noticed that by default, Skype opens up to the "Skype Home" site, instead of the contact list. This is highly annoying, as I do not have a facebook account that I want to connect with Skype.
PLEASE give us an option of disabling this Skype Home, it is SO annoying!
Thank You.

I'm running the latest 5.5 beta and it alwasy opens with Contacts for me, which it never did in the 5.4 version. But then I've never touched the Facebook side of it in any version as it doesn't interest me, so maybe that's the reason.

I haven't either. I still don't get why it still opens to this "Skype Home".

Can it really be so hard for Skype to understand that us business users DO NOT WANT FACEBOOK? I don't want to integrate Skype with anything. I want to be able to keep multiple discussions open at the same time on the screen. This requires that:
a) Skype Home goes away. Far away. And stays there.
b) Compact window design. No big buttons (unless you can change the size to as small as possible). No huge pictures of people's faces - or at least a way to disable them. I couldn't care less about that. If I want to see their faces I'll open a video conference.
c) ability to have multiple chat windows open at the same time. This is a must. I don't want tabs. I use this for WORKING. If I can't communicate with my team reliably, without having to break my mouse clicking from tab to another to see who has responded and when, it just won't do the work it's supposed to.
Please, oh God please make a REAL business version of Skype. For Mac, too. Remove all the unnecessary Facebook crap from it, remove big shiny buttons from it, and remove all the stupid avatar pictures from it. Make it useful, plain and fast. After that you can stuff whatever animated ponies you want on the ToySkype you can market for kids.
Too bad Skype people either won't read this or even if they do, they won't care about it. One-animated-ponies-and-hugbears-Skype-to-rule-the

I have Mac Lion and yesterday it seems the update came in because the screen I used disappeared, the application launches and I get the menu bar, a small list of connected contacts (with which I cannot do absolutely anything), and nothing else, NOTHING to work with at all... I agree with you I am not interested in using skype within facebook and nobody can oblige us to do so... How can we solve this? Yo say you went to an alternative, which would be that?
