Skype 5.7.60.1037 - Column Widths?

Well, unless I'm missing something, they didn't listen to the many comments regarding the column widths in the Mac interface.

It's simple: I want to see more of the "name" column, and less of the "Status" column. I don't really give a hoot about people's status messages... I want to see their names.

I even searched through the various "plist" files inside the Application package to see if there was some way to hack this, but there doesn't seem to be any method to do so.

Frustration.

Re: Skype 5.7.60.1037 - Column Widths?

I would also like to add my vote for wider name columns here. I mean, what else if not the name is the most important piece of information in the contact window?
Just let us adjust the size arbitrarily and let us hide columns we don't want there.

I was also hoping for this update to fix this, oh well... seems no one at Skype actually uses Skype on something smaller than 27 inch displays...

Re: Skype 5.7.60.1037 - Column Widths?

Hi,

Well, why not to enlarge/reduce each column width by using mouse pointer to suit your tastes ?

It's not possible. Only the name column is possible to reduce a lot. If you minimise the window as far as possible the name column reduces and can't be expanded because the status column takes up more than 50% of the window and can't be reduced. The lists and locations columns are hidden off the window to the right.

Try expanding the Name field:

You can't if the window is minimised as far as it can go and you can only expand it so far with the window bigger as the *, Status, List and Location columns won't go any smaller and can't be removed

I totally agree. Can we please have the ability to shrink/grow/hide any column to any size? I don't follow people's status, but I'd like to see their names - I don't have my skype window very big.

Re: Skype 5.7.60.1037 - Column Widths?

Is that only a MAC OS x bug ? To see only the first 3 letters of the name is absolute nonsense and to operate SKype in fullscreen view to see the full name is super nonsense.

Who cares about the status and the location ? Please skype (Microsoft) do something and give us the chance to change the column width individually. Cheers !

Why not try v5.8.0.865?  It's an improvement, IMNSHO.
