I have 600 contacts so I know someone must be on it but I can't find those status icons next to anyones name like the instructions say. I have clicked on I think all the buttons, such as All Syype, etc at top. I have put cursur over a persons name. No see the icons?
What am I doing wrong. I have the latest Skype version.

With 600 contacts surely at least one or two must have it?????
If your Skype test is showing green you must be on line. Have you actually asked any of your contacts to allow you to contact them on Skype, or have they asked you? One or the other has to send a request first and it can either be refused or accepted. You won't see anything more about them until that's done though.
600 contacts - jeeze
You solved it. I had my wife get on Skype and now her status shows up with the Skype Logo. When I click on the status column it sorts by who has Skype and she is the only one that shows up. You are right that I have never asked my other 600 contacts to use Skype.
Now I see why Ebay sold Skype to Microsoft.....most of us would hesitate to make a Skype call if we have to first request the other person to use it....if we already knew they were set up to make calls on Skype we would more likely use it.

In my opinion a good safety feature because you can then refuse all the chaff and keep only those you want, and that applies in the other direction as well.Good luck with all your talking
Yes, I see where it keeps out the chaff, thanks.
One other comment: Skype probably should tell people what you told me, i.e. people like me have to request someone to take a call if they want to use Skype, since as I indicated I had looked at my 600 contacts and did not use it since I thought no one else had it in use, thus I did not use it. If I had been told the situation a few years ago I probably would have used it by now.
The contacts list down the left hand side shows a green tick against all contacts who are on line. If you just want to see only on line contacts then click on "Online" above the message pane and you'll see just the online contacts.
Of course that depends on whether you've actually installed Skype and you aren't trying to do everything from the web site!
I have 600 contacts in Skype and not one has the green check mark-up; I must be doing something wrong because surely someone else is using Skype. Help!

Yes, it does. When I click that online button at top, I too see the entry like yours that says Skype test call and the green check. But no one else like the two yours shows. Also, no favorites on the left. Also, I have the current version as you described i.e. #865.
