5.4 beta FAIL - Messages typed not appearing [ Edited ]

Both 5.4 betas have a serious bug in that upon closing and reopening a contact's message window, one's own text fails to appear in the window. Messages from the contact you're chatting with continue to appear, the contact RECEIVES messages sent and closing and reopening Skype proves that the messages were in fact sent and logged.

However, being unable to see what you've typed as you are in a conversation renders Skype chat next to useless.

I am having the exact problem with both skype & facebook messages. I do see them pop up with growl but they are nowhere to be found in my skype chat window.

As mentionned by SaSaSushi, quitting/re-open proves the messages were send and received. As well as if i check on my facebook profile.

Anybody else having this issue? I hate the FB chat and i liked skype as a sub, but its getting on my nerves.....

I'm having a similar problem, when using IM I can only see my side of the conversation. The other persons conversation doesn't appear. I get a brief glimpse of it in a mouse over window that fades. We are having to go back to FB for messaging.

skype 5.5 beta is out, havent had the chance to try it out yet. Hope it fixes that bug. has anybody installed it? can you confirm? http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-macosx-beta

I'm running version 5.5.60.2340 and still have this problem. Please skype developers do something, is terrible!

Me too, it's becomming pretty impossible to use Skype.
