That aside: Unfortunately we couldn't reproduce this problem internally yet but it would definitely help if you could share the MacOS version and hardware you are using so we can check if there's a pattern hidden.
I recommend to download the latest Skype and search first.
To get the most out of Skype I recommend Skype Premium.

it may help to get an idea of its frequency, as claudius rightly points out.
however, i do agree that there is a deeper problem with declaring the "same problem": how "same" is it really? if the first description of a problem is too unspecific, many subsequent "me too" will be essentially different. summing up wrong "me too"s is worthless.
besides, that's the reason why I highly appreciate the famous interventions of a well-known super user, saying: different problem, start new thread.
I have the same problem. I reinstalled the new skype and it didn't help either. So I had to go back to the old version, it was the only way. BTW everytime skype closed unespectedly I sent a report. I couldn't even giv ein my password before it would shoot down.
I have a problem with my skype on MAC, where as I am on a video call for a very long time it shutdown my skype program and then gives me an error. This can happen at any random time.
When the skype program is idle eg. ( it is open and i can see my contacts and send messages to my contacts) which is fine.

I've been having this problem for over 3 weeks. when it closes and asks for comments, at first l just put short ones explaing what is going on, and now l'm getting pretty upset about it... I've redownloaded skype many times trying to fix it and nothing works. there is no new update for skype, and it's starting to annoy me that Skype facultiy haven't said that they are trying to figure out and resolve this issue.
