I got an update message from Skype and downloaded it. Started off that the toolbar only had the Skype logo. Went into Finder and clicked the new file that downloaded and was informed that it isn't supported by my platform. Tried to click on a file called "old Skype" and it just disappeared.
Now I don't have Skype at all. To beat that, I am assuming that all of my contacts disappeared with the old file.
Tried to reinstall Skype and got the same lame message.
Just a bit pissed right now. If you're going to send out upgrades and they don't work with older Mac OS (OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a) then how about telling us not to download it. Now I guess I need to ask where I can get a version of Skype that works!?!?!?

After reading around, I found a link to an older version of Skype. Downloaded and installed. Whne I clicked on the Skype button to connect to the internet, I got a window that asked if I wanted to "see the internet page", "Cancel" or "Connect". I clicked "Connect" and my old contacts page with my login and password had been restored. Hooked right up. Now I need to make a call....

Thank you so much, I followed your instructions and old Skype re-installed. I am not technical so could not have done this without your help. I have three dear friends around the world only contactable with Skype, so now re-connected.

I tried doing this download of the older version and when I went to open the download up I was given this msg. " The following disk images failed to mount Skype 2.8.0.866dmg reason was not recognized" showed up on computer screen. I do not know how to get my skype back. Anyone can help...please.
