I am sorry sdogv but you can't use the new versions of Skype. They dropped PC G4 support (it is also known as "pcc" instead of "x86" and "x86_64" which is the current supported architectures). There are 10.5 machines that are "x86" and others that are "pcc".

If you run this from the app "Terminal" (installed by default):

file /Applications/Skype.app/Contents/MacOS/Skype

/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/MacOS/Skype: Mach-O executable i386

When I run file against Skype I can see that it says that it is a "i386" application which is pretty much the same as saying that it only runs in "x86" which you can't run.

There is an older version of Skype that you can use:

http://mac.oldapps.com/skype.php?system=mac_os_x_10.5_leopard_powerpc

Versions 2.7 to 2.8. NOTE: "ppc" is the same as PowerPC. You will notice that there is also the "Intel" category which is "i386/x86".

This means that eventually you will have to buy a new Mac. Sorry about that!

I hope it helps.

Re: camera not showing me on Skype using latest version of iMac os x and Skype

See previous post.  New versions of Skype do not work on Mac pc...I went to site suggested and downloaded a 2008 version which works just fine..  BTW, Mac 386 may be OK, but a Mac pc 10.5 NG..

Re: camera not showing me on Skype using latest version of iMac os x and Skype

1.This appears to be a issue related to the latest build 5.5.60.2340 as my camera (FV Touchcam N1) worked great in HD with the previous build of SKYPE, (5.5.60.1093) and continues to work well with other Mac applications!
2.I tested the camera with build 5.5.60.2340 using a 3rd party application called "TechTool Pro" Version 6 and the camera performes perfectly, confirming the interface from the FV TouchCam to the computer works perfectly with Mac Skype versions prior to the latest build

Re: camera not showing me on Skype using latest version of iMac os x and Skype

Download an old version of Skype, e,g, 2.8.0.866.dmg ..

This one worked fine for me, using Mac OS 10.5.8.. New versions of Skype for Mac

do NOT register.. (don't know why)
