Hi, all. I posted this same question a few days ago... haven't seen my thread yet (since it's well buried by other issues by now,) but my guess is it has similar responses. I'll be back if someone had a brilliant fix, besides the idea of downgrading for now.
I sent a customer service request; so far, they've only responded with stock answers, such as, "take a picture of the problem and send it to us." I'll continue to be persistent and hopefully get some kind of real help eventually.
Yeah I've been having the same problem. It only started when I upgraded to the newest version. I might just go back to the old one but I'd really like the layout of this new one so please help if you can.
Hey guys, I was having the same problem and I just downgraded. I have a 2.2GH white macbook which I bought in late 2007. I'm running Snow Leopard on this Mac, but I didn't have this problem before upgrading from Leopard a few weeks ago.
This really sucks because 2.8 is so primitive in comparison, but the camera problem in 5.2 is just unacceptable. I'll keep checking back here for more info, I hope someone finds a solution or programs one soon.
Hello.. I have the same problem with my cam on my mac.. please let us now for quick solution. I'm using skype very often.
i just upgraded to version 18.104.22.1683 for mac and for some reason during video calls, my video zooms in and can't zoom out unless i reset the video. its a macbook OSX 10.6.8. any one else have this problem or know a way to fix it?
I'm not sure what is meant by 'auto-zoom', but I think I'm having the same problem: after some random amount of time (somethings a half hour, sometimes just a couple minutes) the video of me becomes just a quarter face (my eye and part of my nose and forehead). The only way to fix it is to turn off video and restart. It's rather distracting in meetings for work, because frequently I just become a looming eye, people I'm talking with find it alarming or amusing. There's no panning/zooming involved, it just suddenly switches to the "looming eye mode". Very annoying!
This only started when I upgraded to 5.2.
