We have just purchased a skype online number and activated voicemail. We are seeking to use it to manage incoming calls for a small business. However, we can't work out how to:
- send a call to voicemail if we decline the call (because we are busy)
- reduce the number of rings before an unanswered call goes to voicemail (the current number of rings is far too long - most callers would have hung up before it went over to voicemail).
Is there any way of changing the settings to do this?
Many thanks for any tips.

You may want to go to Skype, click tools> options> call> voicemail and then you can set up your voicemail ect...but I ran into a dilemma myself the voicemail option is not longer there for some reason so you are not the only one searching for that option...

the only way I know how to somewhat resolve this issue is editing your config.xml file for skype to include:
<NoAnswerTimeout>15</NoAnswerTimeout>
inside the <call></call> section. but even then I am still looking for what the tag is to set it so that when I decline calls they go to voice mail as well (and not just noanswer)

You have to click on tools, options, calls and voicemail and that will open all the options that you are talking about...
Mine is set to 18 seconds,
Send unanswered calls to voicemail.
Send calls to voicemail if..
I don't answer within 18 seconds:wink ![]()
I wished I could send you the picture of if... let me know..

'Tools' doesn't exist on the Mac application and therefore options > calls > voicemail can't be found to edit. I think you must be using a different version of Skype, possibly a PC version.
On the Mac, the closest place where the options to edit can be found is Skype > Preferences > Calls > Incoming Calls. But from there, there is no option to change to 'send to voicemail if unansered after xx seconds'.
So.... can you send a skype call to voicemail if unanswered after a set period of time?! At the moment it seems to be no, which isn't very good!

Looks like editing the config.xml file may work. Mine is "set" by "default" to 25 seconds in my config.xml file (no option to set this in the "Preferences").

Hi,
Go to Skype preferences >>> Calls :
1 - Firstly, tick 'Forward calls' checkbox
2 - Then click 'Set up Forwarding' button (wich is now active)
3 - Type the suitable number of seconds you want
4 - Click 'Done' button
5 - Tick then 'Send to voicemail' tiny checkbox.
Et voilà !
Default waiting duration is now the number of seconds you typed.

When you say "go to tools, options etc. where do you find "Tools"?? I am using a Mac, and don't find it either on the program on the computer or on the web after log in. Please advise as I am trying to reduce the number of rings for voicemail to pick up.
thanks
