Re: Voicemail settings

Hi Claudius,

Thanks for your response!

According to my testing just now, either selecting my Skype Name, or typing in "voicemail"

in the Call Forwarding section of the Calls Menu

results in the incoming message being sent to voice mail,

and the incoming message being recorded there.

I'm glad to learn there's more than one way to do it!

Thanks much for your interest in this!

I sure wish the new versions of Skype were getting better, rather than worse!

Skype is an important service for many of us!

It would be a shame to have to switch to a different one.

Re: Voicemail settings

I can see the 'tools' then 'options' but then after that, I do NOT see 'Calls' or 'Voicemail'.  Now what?

Hi,

I'm using Skype for Mac Version 2.8.0.866.

I don't recommend the newer versions, so far ...

Under the Skype Menu:

Preferences > Calls

Under Calls you can set:

Calling

Call Forwarding

Voicemail

I select:

Forward unanswered calls after (15) seconds

  to (voicemail)

Send unanswered calls to Skype Voicemail.

Hope this helps!

About Windows Tools and Mac Preferences:  They're not the same.  Each has different controls with different capabilities.  In general, the Windows Tools are more robust.

Re: Voicemail settings

A problem (one among a thousand with Skype, given the new versions are basically junk), is that you need the new versions to do multiple-person conferencing and also for screen-sharing, etc. Even quality of calls among Skype users varies if the versions are different. So good idea for those who don't need advanced versions, but no go for users that do.

Voicemail settings

It's almost criminal that after five years or so, Skype has not fixed this.  In fact the interface problem has only gotten worse.  This has to be among the most disappointing software in its genre.

Re: Voicemail settings/Bad Updates for Years ...

Agreed.

With almost 37 million people online with Skype at this moment ...

The degree of neglect in properly updating the software is ...

  Mind boggling ...

I must say that I'm glad that at least the old software still works- for what it does ...

The newer versions seem to have been designed by folks that don't have experience actually using the software?

In the newest Mac version I tried, even the History function doesn't work ...
