Video position and resizing

As said in other posts, I am making a new thread just to enforce the fact that in the new Skype for Mac OS (as well as the Windows version) I can't reposition and resize my video window how I want to, but I can just stick to the corners and 2 fixed size, one of which is practically invisible!

I would like to go back to how it was, so that I can resize my video window and, especially, move it wherever I want, and also hide it as I wish!!!

Thanks!

Re: Video position and resizing

I wish I knew this before I downloaded the new version.

Is there any way I can go back to version 5.0?

Thanks,

g

Re: Video position and resizing

Good luck to you all.  It'll be a cold day in Hell before Skype responds to your concerns.  Many of us are still waiting on the return of the Messiah in the form of an upgraded Skype 2.8, the last excellent Skype client.  The Skype 5+ series can't even maintain good connections, let alone offer visual grace and ease of use.  Skype is on a suicide course, priming its users to jump ship as soon as one approaches closely enough.

Re: Video position and resizing

Hi gamu,

I went onto http://mac.oldapps.com/skype.php to get the older version of skype that allowed you to resize and position the video as you like.

I think the version I downloaded was Skype 5.3.0.1074.

I hope that helps.

Re: Video position and resizing

I do not understand how it is possible to make this "mistake" by Skype. I downloaded the new version and I do not understand why I can`t change my own video size. I REALLY hope Skype read these complaints and do something about it ASAP.

Is it a easy way to re-install an older version of Skype without removing and then installing?

Re: Video position and resizing

and so if this "cold day comes"  and SKYPE actually answers us.... where will the answer be posted??  ARE there any options for fixing this issue?  Did anyone discover a work-around?  I use skype to teach and If I can't see myself (except out of the corner of my eye due to its location!) it is practically impossible!  Where is a SKYPE competitor?
