Hi There, I have a MacBook Pro and for some reason after I did a recent upgrade the status tick on my desktop is Black instead of green. Why is this ?  Everything working normally though

The grayscale status icon at the top of your screen is normal.  That happened a few updates ago. The icon in the application itself continues to change with the change of status.

Does it still appear Green to contacts when I am on line?

It will appear green IN THE APPLICATION window, but not at the top of the monitor.
