After the latest upgrade to Version 5.7.0 1037, Skype startup is taking over 5 minutes to complete. During this time it blocks all other activity. I've had to remove automatic startup at login but that's to stop frustration and is not a proper solution.
I'm on Mac OS X Version 10.5.8. My daughter, also using a MacBook with the same OS X and Skype Versions, does not have this problem. What is causing my problem and how can it be fixed?

Like: The ability to get replies to my SMS messages on my mobile. Nice one.
Dislike: The fact that my previous SMS history was wiped on upgrading to this version.
