Skype Freeze in LMDE 64

[ Edited ]

Skype freezes just after login.
The system is barely responding, or not responding at all. Keyboard and mouse are almost stuck, the HDD is running and clicking all the time, sometimes ctrl-alt-bs is possible, but most of the time only a hard reset.

This doesn't happen always. There seems to be a correlation between the time you start Skype after booting the netbook; shortly after booting seems to cause more freezes then waiting >5min and then start Skype.
I have to investigate this more.

It happens with both my netbook and my GF's netbook: both Lenovo x121e, LMDE 64, Skype from the repo's 2.2.0.35

I found these, but none of them solves my problem:

Who recognizes this?
Or who nows how to solve this?

Sorry; Skype refuses to paste links in here....AAAHHGGRR!

Re: Skype Freeze in LMDE 64

After some research on the net I found something on Debian and Arch fora:

I'm testing this now:

Code:

mkdir ~/.Skype/Logs

It seems to work untill now....fingers crossed
Apparently Skype sometimes crashes when it cannot find the Logs folder.

Can anyone confirm that this works with LMDE?

I'd like to confirm this. Created the folder and the client doesn't freeze up anymore.
