Skype Contacts Problem with OS X Mountain Lion

I can use my skype fine so long as I dont interact with facebook at all. I'm fairly certain the problem has nothing to do with OSX Mountain Lion cause I've had it since it was released and was doing fine for the first little while.

For now I've deleted the skype application on my facebook so notifications stop poping up and freezing my Skype.

Hoping for a solution...

We have an big Imac. Working perfectly. Downloaded Mountain Lion last night and no Skype this morning.??? oooops

How do we disconnect FaceBook from Skype?

We are not linked to Face book. 

Do you have any other ideas?

I am having the same issue with Mac OS X 10.6.8 I have reinstalled the application but everytime I go to click on contacts it freezes up!

Having similar problems, is there any way to disable the facebook feature after you set it up?

I actually don't really care for the facebook feature much, it's rather confusing when you have a contact for both.

I use skype for work every single day, and this is becoming a bit of a nuisance.

Is there any hope for a solution here sometime soon?

Yes same problem here with Mountain Lion and latest Skype, it freeze when selecting Contacts

This was, how i fixed it:

1. Disconnect Facebook via Skype Home (Icon on the right top)

2. Close Skype

3. Delete Skype in Facebook Settings as an Application

4. Delete Skype-Profile-Data-Folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Skype (Folder has the name of your Skype-Account)

5. Restart Skype

6. Login with Skype-Account, but DON'T CONNECT WITH FACEBOOK!!

7. Be able to skype again

I couldn´t find the file you told, so what I did after desconect Facebook was uninstall Skype With CCleaner, ant installed it again. Now it works normally.

CCleaner should have the same effect i think - if you cant find the Folder, just go into the Finder and select "Go to" and "Go to folder" - there copy and paste the path written in my last post..

This isn't just Mountain Lion folks, it's for 10.7.4 as well.  Skype has completely screwed up their entire ecosystem with this assinine Facebook integration.
