Skype 5.5 Mac - No Volume Control

I have been a longtime Skype subscriber and this seems to be a regular Skype pattern of treating Apple users of Skype as sub-citizens. I have spent better than 25 years in the communications industry, and if we were to ever let a product out the door with these kind of quality issues we would have been fired on the spot. I firmly believe that Skype does not have any kind of quality control in place. Obviously, you are not an ISO certified company and lack the pride to become one. Skype, I am very disappointed in you. At this rate you will never get to a Five Star rating, and you will always hover around two.

I don't understand why they should make such cool application into a crap ! no volume control, no adjustable screen sharing .... the new version is a headache

I do have the same complaint about the disclosure of the volume control in the latest versions of Skype. I do not want to use the general volume buttons on my Mac, I want to have control of the volume of Skype as separate control function. 

I am using Skype for four years now, every single day, but if this functionality will not be restored soon, I will possibly look for an alternative service then Skype.

I can't believe they removed the volume control. What a waste of a decent program! Skype needs to get their act together, especially considering more and more people are using macs these days.

I find myself replying to my own post... after I remembered that Skype is now owned by Microsoft. Skype's last three or four releases definately favored Windows based machines. OSX, IOS and Android devices are being treated "persona on grata". Perhaps this another little vendeta enacted by Microsoft.

I'm missing the button too! I've seen solutions posted all over the Skype forums, but these solutions only work for Windows (and they take a hundred clicks to get to the options which I can't think Windows users like either). But Mac users don't have these options and we also cannot adjust the volume in the general system sound settings.

Currently, Skype is really unusable this way. And I can't understand why they didn't put this option back in in 5.6! Bring back the Volume Control is one of the TOP KUDOED posts in this forum! They must have seen this.

Log-in and voice your complaint in the ticket.  Also...click the Watch button in the upper right.

Without volume control, Skype is a headache...and unusable for voice/video calls.  The developer touted all the "fixes" in 5.6...but somehow they can't seem to add something as simple as volume control.  

I suggest that we leave comments everyday in that ticket until it's fixed.

I updated the version 5.6 today for Mac and HOPE that the volume adjustment problem has been fixed... But, that is just HOPE  

When they will fix that? so headache when I have to hear the sound from my call and the sound directly on my Mac

I too updated to 5.6 for Mac and I GOT NOTHING!!!!!  No volume control. This is soooooo wrong. I will go back to one of the older versions and start looking for another client, if anyone knows of another service like skype I am willing to switch. I have used skype from day one when they first came out, There software got better for a wail but now for the past few years it has gone down hill , bigger windows taking up all your desktop and now critical options going missing. Any one know what was the last Mac version that actually worked?
