Running a Mac (power PC) with OS 10.5.8.

Is there a way to run a webcam using an earlier version of Skype? I have a Mac Power PC running Leopard (10.5. and the only version I have been able to download is 2.8. Skype is overlooking a massive audience of users. There must be a way without buying a new system? Thank you.

I have the same problem. Did you get any helpful responses? I have an older version of Skype on my laptop that I thought I'd be able to use once I got a new hard drive and more memory, but I can't log in. I don't want to be forced into buying a new product just to use Skype. I only use Skype to call my brother and sister who both live outside of the United States so that they can see and talk to my 89 year old mother who has dementia.

I use Macam (http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/) to run an old version of Skype on a PPC with an old USB webcam.

The quality suffers a bit, I suspect from the low processor speed.
