Regarding My Skype Update, [ Edited ]

Hi, i just downloaded the new update for skype but when it's done downloading it saids "it was unable to download because the app is overwritten on or something like that.... 

How can i fix this so i can get the latest?

& when i click for check for updates it saids im using the latest but then the icon still pops up for a new update....

thanks i downloaded it. so does that mean i have the new version now?

No....one you download the .dmg installer you have to run it.  Then you'll have the latest.

Click on Skype > About Skype to see what version you have installed.  The current version is 5.6.0.143.   That's what that link was to.

yeah that's what it saids. [i have the latest version] hopefully the pop up doesnt come up again then. since i have the latest!

I've just looked and 5.6.0.203 is indeed the latest.  They snuck one in since I checked a few days ago.

If you keep getting that popup, do ahead and run the installer you dowloaded via the link I provided.  It won't hurt to reinstall and it may silence the pop-up.
