Re: Menu bar missing

Mine is missing on my IPad 2 as well. Plus I can't even get to a start page to look for my contacts. Nothing! What's up with this?

Re: Menu bar missing

Chances are inf your menu bar is missing you're signing in to your Skype acount via a browser, which won't work.

Download then run the install via this link:  www.skype.com/go/getskype-macosx

Once the install is complete, signin with your Skype name and password and you should see the menu bar and be able to start using Skype's features.

Re: Menu bar missing

I've reinstalled Skype several times today and still no sign in or menu bar.  Do I need to upgrade my operating system?  I have OS 10.5.8.  If that's not the problem, what is?  Thanks.

Re: Menu bar missing

Have you really reinstalled it? Is Skype showing in its own box? Can you use it, despite the menu bar. You have to download the programme (read the message above from g4pllut) and install it, not just copy it across to the Applications folder but double click on the file and follow the instructions.

Re: Menu bar missing

Skype calls cannot be made from a browser.  You need to download the application, install it, log in with your username and password, and Skype away.  Remember that Skype-to-Skype calls are free.  All others requrire credit.

Re: Menu bar missing

I followed www.skype.com/go/getskype-macosx and nothing changed.  If browser means Safari, it's the only internet access I have.

Re: Menu bar missing

The link you included in your post results in a download of the Skype .dmg file.  Once you've downloaded it, you must double-click the file to open the installation window.  It does not auto-install.  Drag the Skype application to the right and drop it on the Applications folder IN THAT WINDOW to install Skype.  Once you have installed it, it 'lives' in your Applications folder (accessed from the Go dropdown menu at the top of your screen when Finder is active).  Open the application, sign in with your username/password, and all should be well with the world.
