Re: Please tell the truth.

Is most probable that Microsoft, as it did before, will use Skype to further its dominating/domination(?, sorry English is not my first language) position.  First only Linux (and Android), but also OSX will be hit.  Apples's iOS will probably be attacked last, as its a major force.

The idea will be the same as with Office, make it "standard", then make everybody comply or else ...

Re: Please tell the truth.

Unfortunately Skype is dominant, so we have not much choice than to bear the pain with Skype's reluctance to recompile on 64bit or fix bugs.
Fortunately Skype is dominant, so the EU will soon force MS to treat non Windows OS in the same way, or open the protocol. The EU will not allow one single vendor to kidnap VOIP.

Re: Please tell the truth.

I recently converted to linux. But I know about linux, and windows ecosystem. Google, Microsoft, Adobe they all do same thing. But wait a minute, Most developers in those companies used linux for their things. They simply got the juice from it and forget about it. Most developers are in that position because linux. Because it's open and they once played with it. That's how they got here.. But forgetting Linux is very very bad....

Look at this thread, there are so many posts. Most of them are developers who use linux. Skype developers must have decency to remember this and pay thier respect to Linux..

Re: Please tell the truth.

There is Google software for which there is no Linux version? I dare to doubt that (I don't use every piece of software Google make though, so I don't know).

Re: Please tell the truth.

At least they are doing "something" http://blogs.skype.com/garage/2012/05/skype_22_for_linux_hotfix.html

But this update looks like a symbolic update: "Hey, now you can't say anymore that the last update was one year ago!"

Re: Please tell the truth.

SketchUp is no longer owned by Google. Trimble Navigation has acquired SketchUp from Google and will integrate it into their own product portfolio.
