Latest version of skype on Mac, no text appearing.

I'm using the latest version of skype on Mac, and whenever I try to send a message, it sends but I can't see it. And when someone replies the message pops up in the top right corner but I can't see it on the Skype window.

In my case I had to reboot the computer (logging in and out was not enough). This "fixed" it

Unfortunatly rebooting is not enough in my case. I read in a forum that someone solved this problem by "loading the PAC files locally" but I'm not sure abput how to do this without messing up all my proxy settings has anyone an advise?

Having the same problem ; was trying all ready reinstall etc ... Nothing works .

Same here.

Started trying Skype again on my Macbook, after I had used it the latest time on my PC in 2011.

video, calling is working perfect. Also on the Iphone and Ipad.

The only thing is that i have the same problem with the chat on my Macbook.

I can read chats on the other devices, realtime when I type something on the Macbook, but in the screen on the Macbook, there is nothing coming.

Hoping somebody knows the solution.

Re-installing, login in/out, nothing works.

If not, does anybody have a suggestion what else to use?

(facetime also is great, but not everybody uses an Apple product.

yeah...this support program they have for skype is a load of garbage! what happened to customer service? what happened to talking to someone to get answers when you pay for a service? I posted about this as well 2 days ago with no replies. points off skype!
