In the process of trying to edit my profile, I received a red alert saying something close to 'phone number not in valid format'. In fact, the phone number has remained the same, since last editing session, years ago (I have not edited phone number recently). Phone number is styled with parentheses around area code, and dash between exchange and the last four digits; I've tried other ways to format/style the number (i.e. no parentheses, only dashes between groups of numbers, and no divider at all - simply using the 10 digits) -- to no avail.
How do you suggest I proceed?
Thank you. ~ Anne Marie

I'm having exactly the same issue.
The previously entered numbers were in the format "+1-515-555-1212" but now skype says they're invalid.
I've tried all possible permutations, without being able to save my profile edits, unless I delete the numbers, altogether.

Hi DV,
I appreciate the input. I checked, and I'm effectively doing the same thing -- leaving the phone number fields blank. Sort of odd, but whatever works I guess...
Thanks! ~ Anne Marie

I'm having the exact same problem. Other than deleting the phone numbers, has anyone heard of a solution?

Hello,
I appreciate your question! Actually, no -- however I have yet to place Skype call (or other Skype contact), so I continue to work through that process.
Details: I don't quite get how a service that would purportedly need my correct telephone number in order to establish contact will proceed without that telephone number, but I will try to avoid that question and keep on investigating VOIP.
Thank you! ~ Anne Marie

I had the same problem. I tried different combinations for my home phone. The one that worked was to enter the number without dashes and "+1" at the front: +15155551234.

Wonderful! This solution worked for me, too.
I hope something goes really well for you today!
Thank you. ~ Anne Marie

Just stumbled upon a solution for my Mac OS10.6.8;
hit EDIT
Click blank field left of phone number
Choose United States
Highlight the wrong phone number and delete
type in +1 then the 10 digit number
The red boarder on the phone number box turns blue
then hit SAVE
Note no flag appared. Also note I had to hunt around for buttons that seem to be invisable in my browser (Safari, last version) to click them.
