I don't want to see pop-ups of contacts signing in and signing out

I am on a MacBook Pro.  I just downloaded the latest Skype version.  Now I see pop-ups of my contacts when they sign-in and sign-out. How do I disable that function?  Thanks.

Two places to look: Skype's Notifications preferences, where you can configure what happens.  And, if you have Growl installed, do likewise there.  You'll Find Growl (a third-party application not affiliated with Skype) in the bottom row of System Preferences.  Take a look there, even if you don't think you have Growl.  It may have sneaked in when you weren't looking...
