How to open .dat files of chatsync to see conversations?

I wanted to see some conversations from sometime ago and I cannot open .dat files in the chatsync nor dbb files. I know that in windows there are some programs that allow this. How can I do it in mac? How can i open the conversations? word or text edit do not work.
