The new Skype V5.8.0.945 just will not work with Mac OS 10.5.8. This is the message that appears after download and install:
Note that Skype V2.8 works well.
Any suggestions?

I recommend to download the latest Skype and search first.
To get the most out of Skype I recommend Skype Premium.

Apparently Skype 5.8.0.945 does not work with MAC OS 10.5.8. I can not hear the caller on my Tower mac or on my lap top Mac they can not hear me. Skype works on the Ipad. I think this is a software problem with SKYPE thst they need to resolve since I am not the only one with this problem.
Can SKYPE Programers please resolve these program issues for MAC users? Thank you.

Have tried restarting = not a fix
Have tried resetting system memory = not a fix
Have tried uninstall and reinstall this new version = not a fix.
The only thing that works is to reinstall the old version of Skype (V2.8?)
