Cannot Figure Out How To Manage Contacts On Mac OSX & V5

I'm completely baffled by the latest version of Skype.  My contact list was a mess so I deleted it and added it again from my Mac Address Book.  I want to add skype names to peope and to make groups.  If I right click people there is none of the options mentioned in the help file.  If I bring up the profile for a contact there are no options to edit it.  I can't create groups and the help file keeps referring to a Skype Manager.  I'm at home, not at work.  This used to be a pretty user friendly product but it seems just awful now.  What am I missing?

I'm having the same problem and it's driving me mad. Thank you for posting this. I was beginning to think I was doing something wrong or looking in the wrong place.

I've spent a lot of time on internet trying to find the anwer - no luck.

Likewise!  I cannot edit or create a list (which is Skype for 'group').  I've managed to delete an old one, by right clicking and taking 'delete' option.  But I cannot figure out how to add contacts from my overstocked contacts list to specific lists.  I've tried right clicking, drag and drop, but nothing works. There are no options in any of the drop down menus to create a list, or to add people to a list.

I never did find Skype particularly user friendly when it came to editing, but it seems to get worse with each upgrade.  This should be simple, obvious and easy. 

The iPad version has even fewer options. I would be most grateful for any suggestions.

Hi, Add me to the list, I'm having the same problem.  The help article obviously does not apply to this latest version of skype for Mac.

Any suggestions for managing contact lists?

A related problem is that, although Skype reads contacts from OS X's Address Book, and Address Book 6.1 has a filed for Skype names, Skype 5.3 does not seem to read in those Skype names. Duh!

Glad to know that I'm not the only one having this issue... I have people in my listing from years ago that I never contact (friends I've lost touch with), or intend to contact again (i.e. old girlfriend) but can't seem to locate any way to manage contacts aside from "Blocking" them. 

If "Block Contact" is the way to remove from the list, then great... But I don't want to block some of the old friends if it actually does block them and they try to reach me at some point...

What [no personal comments please]programmer thought it was ok to allow someone to add a phone number for a contact but not have any way for them to delete it or edit it?

I wrote to support asking how to edit or delete a contact.  I quoted the exact version and OS that I have.

They told me to "select" the number from the menu that pops up when you click the arrow next to call (after which they then said I could "edit" it).

When I did that, it tried to CALL the contaact (at 4:50 AM).

Nothing is more annoying when the morons at "support" don't even know what the software does.

I can't believe I actually pay this pathetic company money.

yes I did the same and got the same result. irritating!
