Business solution also for Linux (and Mac)

Hello,

in our small company we ruminate about using Skype for our internal communication and also for calling in our country (Czech republic, fixed lines + mobile calls). But we require solution usable not only for Windows but also especially for Linux and ideally also for Mac.

I am not sure which possibilities could Skype give to our company:

1) Business version (with Skype Manager) is available only for Windows? Am I right?

2) What about using standard Skype applications (versions for Windows, Linux and Mac) and subsequently using premium accounts for everyone with prepaid calls in our country? Is it possible to use premium account for all platforms?

Thank you for advice.

Re: Business solution also for Linux (and Mac)

I have the same question. I use primarily Linux and I am not willing to start up a virtual windows to use Skype Business. Of course I belong to a minority group on this planet and surely you will have only profit in mind and will never consider releasing a Business version for Linux. The way Skype "private" is (un)supported, with a truly outdated BETA version, is just another illustration of this attitude. Looks like I will need to branch out to open source VOIP alternatives.

1. AFAIK Skype does not have a "business version" - you would still

run the same old program.

By the way - Skype Manager is a web application and it should run on anything with a browser. So managing your resources should not have any platform depenencies.

2. Skype for Linux supports the standard paid calling - skypeout, skypein, forwarding etc (but not group video). I'd assume the Mac version does also.

Re: Business solution also for Linux (and Mac)

I have similar issue. I run a small business and we all use MAC. We want to get a Skype number, calling credits to call mobile and landline, call waiting, call divert - basically all the business option packages. How can I do this and why has Skype not thought about Mac users?
