I re-installed Windows Live Essentials and chose Messenger as one of the programs to install so now I have Skype and Live. I prefer Skype in general, especially on my phone. However, Live is smaller and takes up far less space on my desktop which is Vital at work since I have multiple screens in use at one time. Also, if you haven't uninstalled it yet, this will direct you to where and how to run the download again from your computer's file. I tried finding the files to do this originally but they were gone from my computer. For me, uninstall, and re-downloading Live Essentials worked the easiest and was really fast too. Took me maybe 10 minutes total. Plus, now I have Skype and Live.
FYI: This still works, even if you used the recent download option for Skype to replace Live. Once Windows removes Live Messenger completely this option will be removed, and the ability to repair may also be removed with it. You may want to turn upgrades to review first so that you don't unintentionally remove Messenger.
This sooo sucks.. being forced out of all our custom emotions only to have to run a much bigger application for a messenger.. I will be diggin up a new way to communicate.. and please spare me the responses of how you all are trying to better our communications experiences because we all know its all about the money. PFFT
Don't listen to that tool Tamim, he's playing with your words. Sure you can get WLM back but that doesn't mean it will WORK.
This is a nazi tactic of theirs.
How do I get my windows live messenger back?
so how do we get our windows live messenger back? and why has skype interlinked with windows live messenger?
Skype is without a doubt the biggest piece of junk I have ever seen, it does not come close to WLM, and being forced to have Skype is Microsoft's way of getting rid of many very loyal people. I will down load and start using Yahoo Messenger, unless they put WLM back as it was.
