Re: Linux beta ???

I wouldn't hold your breath any longer in hopes for a Linux RC. This beta has been out since the beginning of this year, the windows version updated several times since. Skype is now a division of MS, and we in the Linux community know how MS feel about us. I imagine the Skype on Linux Dev team has been given the boot.

Re: Linux beta ???

I had no idea that Skype had been taken over by MS - that's not particularly good news in view of what you say about their perceived lack of interest in developing the Linux (beta) version. I'm using 2.2.0.35 which works OK except that I can't get my Logitech webcam to produce any video - it works OK with 'Cheese' though.

Let's hope that MS have a 'change of heart' towards the Linux community and adopt a more responsible attitude as regards the wider use of Skype.

SIP is the open source way to go. I use Ekiga and it also works for Windoze.

Could they at least keep-up with the upgrades in the different linux distributions? 2.2.0.35 does not integrate properly with the system panel in ubuntu 11.10.

Re: Linux beta ???

I should have checked the available software in the package manager. 2.2.0.35 has a version for ubuntu 11.10 which integrates with the system panel seamlessly
