philips voip841

[ Edited ]

Hi,

Sorry I posted this on a wrong forum 'mobile-other devices' before. It should be posted here instead.

I have a philips voip841 and it was working fine until yesterday. The call I made was ringing, but when the person picks up the phone at the opposite end, it is complete silence. I tried rebooting the phone, unplug/replug, rebooting the base station, changing the link settings 10M/Auto, but all failed.

It is currently on V1.0.4.80 firmware.

Do you know how to fix this problem? thanks!

Gilbert

Please copy/paste the link below into the browser window of your choice:

support.skype.com/en-us/troubleshooter/Troubleshooter_Call_Quality/1A//no+sound/1307206507?

What version of Windows are you using and are you 32 or 64 bit?

Re: philips voip841

Thanks for your reply..

The philips voip841 is a standalone headset that connects to the router with its own ethernet cable. No computer is needed and it should still be able to make the call.

Thanks,

Gilbert.

Re: philips voip841

Sorry, I was thinking about the other model, that was connected via USB.

You would need to go to their support forum for this, since there is no Skype client involved.

Re: philips voip841

Thanks for your suggestion. I was just wondering if there is anything changed recently on the skype side that may cause this problem..

Re: philips voip841

You are very welcome.

Many things have changed, this is why I think you should contact support for that device using their forum(s) and/or customer service to see what solutions they may have.

Re: philips voip841

Somehow I got it fixed.

I 'updated' the firmware from 1.0.4.80 to 1.0.4.80.. and then somehow now it is all fixed. There must be something got reset when the firmware update process is done, and along with it the phone fixed itself..

Thanks for your help.

Gilbert.

Re: philips voip841

A useless post.  The problem is with the Philips VOIP841.  It does not log into a network, cannot find SKYPE, no longer works  Firmware is up to date, but this is now just a simple land line phone.  Useless.

Re: philips voip841

Hi nimble_ninja, I have the same issue. Phone won't update when prompted, manual login through web interface also does not work. I think philips needs to issue a new firmware and it should be updated manually through the web interface. Are you still having this issue? If not, how did you solved it? Thanks!
