SPH200D System Start up Screen

I just got a SPH200D, it worked fine foe a few days, then the screen just says System is Starting up.  I have tried reseting the handset, removed the batteries yet the same message.  Can anyone help!!

There was such an issue with this phone and some old firmware, if I recall well. Firmware upgrade did help in most cases.
