After that reply I asked Philips support to be put in contact with a manager or the technical team. No reply. I dont believe the call have been escalated.
I also opened a ticket with Skype asking them to draw the attention of management to this issue. In case Philips has an agreement with Skype to use their name, maybe Skype has some weight. Unfortunately the support person did not understand my request and replied they do not support third party products. At least I tried.
If a Skype staff reads this, please do raise this issue to a managerial attention.
We should rename this thread "message in the bottle" ![]()

Same problem(s) here, only solution (Until they fix their firmware upgrade) is to turn off the automatic update ! Then it won't bother as everything seems to work OK. 2nd point is if they have problems releasing a firmware where the old one is working correctly. You might NOT want to update as they clearly did not Beta test anything. Coming from an IT background always beware for untested or problematic upgrades as it might create problems instead of solving them. Especially if everything works OK to start with. On the other comment in the poor sound quality in this thread. I had the same problem with bad sound quality due to feedback. The reason this happens is that the microphone is very sensitive. If your speaker is very loud. EVEN with the hands free option turned on. You create a feed back loop in the phone itself that is also picked up by the caller (irritating buzz sound). The way to fix this is have someone call you (I used my own mobile phone) and call the VOIP. ONLY DURING the call you can reduce the loudness of the speaker by tapping on the down error in the center circle dial. As this system is very sensitive it already starts to create a feed back loop if you use both the mobile phone and the VOIP in the SAME ROOM ! And as far as service and support of Philips. They probably use a cheap call center with people that had 30 minutes of training. If you are unlucky they can just count to 10 or if you are lucky you talk to a angineering student that is trying to make an extra buck during his spare time. Don't waste your time with them they can ever help you if it is real problem like this !

Today I again had a reply from Philips support telling me " there is no information on my Service Resquest for the moment and that they will contact me as soon as possible".
The ASAP is lasting since one month now.
I instisted to have the management contact and I was given a postal address.
I can give the address to anyone interested. Drop me a Private Message if intererested.
I think we should all send a complain letter.

We all know that Skype is now an Microsoft Company right and the Philips is selling their non profitable company element to Korea and others to lower their cost.
Got the same issue with Voip 855, and after reading all the reply's in this threat not even willing to put any effort in escallating, next phone a Siemens again never had issues with them

Quite so! I've only ever bought 2 Philips products and both have been nothing but trouble....which wouldn't have been quite so bad had their customer service been any use.
But it isn't. It's simply appalling. I'll never make the mistake of buying anything made by Philips ever again.
I get the stupid software update message every morning, only to find that it still hasn't been sorted out.
What a truly useless company Philips are!

I have the same problem with my 855. Even after i turn off the software update/Auto upgrade option. It is becoming a real pain every day when I see the phone requesting the upgrade and having to go through the whole process of declining and logging on again! We have taken to making calls through the landline instead of using the skype out option - must be costing skype some money! I agree we should keep the pressure on Philips but Skype must have a vested interest in this too.

Please see attached communication I've experienced with Philips FRANCE:
"Madame WAGNER,
Victoria WAGNER."
Et voilà! La suite pour bientôt?
