GE 31591GE1 phone does not work. Don't buy from eBuyNow

Hi,

I bought GE 31591GE1 month ago. It was delivered in 3 weeks. ( charges went through on the day of order).

Installation of phone was nice and quick. After login into my account on skype contacts list was EMPTY. System does not allow to add new contacts. Don't buy it if you need Skype.

Don't buy from eBuyNow. If you will have to return your purchase you will not be able to contact them.

No e-mail, no phone, their respond system does not work. It is a Very bad deal. Try to avoid it.

Dear ebaynow support pro,
I could send you copies os more then 100 auto responds when I tried to send some comments. Nobody contact me with solution for my problem. And according to ebuynow I have to pay for shipment of defected product to them. What am I doing wrong? I just need for phone to work or my money back. With this type of service I would not recommend anybody to buy this phone especially from ebuynow.

I am having the same problem with the GE Skype phone from eBuyNow -- no connection to Syype, as far as I can tell!.  I plugged in the black wifi box to my router and see little lights flashing on the back nexr the WAN connector hole.  I then put my Skype ID and password into the phone and I see the 'online' icon on the handset display, next to my Skype name.  However, I can't make any calls out.  I also tried to make a call to me, using another Skype ID of another member of my family.  The phone does not ring.  I assumes this should work right out of the box.  So far, all I have is a dead phone that I spent $90 for! 

Any idea how to make this GE phone wake up and connect to Skype for real?

FOund the solution with the help of the folks at GE Support:  877-394-9775.  I had to power down the phone by disconnecting the battery and unplugging the AC cord to the phone's wi-fi box.  This seems to have reset whatever was hung before.  Also, do NOT select the 'Network' option under settings.  This made my phone stop working, and reuqired another power-down and power-up cycle to fix.

SO, now I am in business, along with the 1-year free calls to US and Canada.  Unfortunately, this does not show as a 'subscription' on mmy Skype Account subscriptions page.  But it seems to be working, as my Skype credit is not be charged for my US calls.
