Freetalk Spurious Handset Ringing

Hello,

I recently purchased a Freetalk unit for use with Skype. I am able to make calls with the Freetalk device, however, the Freetalk unit is causing spurious ringing of my handset. If you pick up the handset and "answer" it, the ringing stops. But when you put the handset back down, it starts again. At first I thought Freetalk might be trying to "signal" me that my landline had messages in my voicemail box (at the local phone company). But, after investigation that isn't it. I thought maybe it might be spurious noise on the line causing Freetalk to trigger the ringing on my handset. So, I installed a DSL filter and that didn't work either.

I searched the Skype support forum using the term "freetalk ringing" and found others who have had the same problem but unfortunately no resolution was listed.

I contacted Freetalk several times and never received a reply. I'm at a loss now and afraid I am going to have to return the unit. What a hassle. I'm very disappointed as I was looking forward to using Freetalk in lieu of having to make Skype calls through my computer. IMO, Skype should not even be selling this product with so many people having so many problems along with customer service that is non-existent (one might even say fraudulent).
